Literature Text

You fear for tomorrow,
Run away from sorrow,
And inside you're jaded -
The very thing you hated.

"There's nothing I can do;"
Your own thoughts mislead you.
It's okay to grieve:
Let all your sorrows leave.

You scream your painful pleas,
Hoping for some release.
Ask and you shall receive -
It's true; don't be deceived.

It's time to start anew,
And see a different view.
'Cause better's yet to come;
Your life has just begun!

Time to live what you've learned,
And work for what you've earned.
We all deserve much worse,
But were saved from that curse.

So know that you are free,
And hopefully you'll see
Health in the malady;
Joy in this tragedy.
Inspired by "The Best Is Yet To Come" by SR-71, and to a lesser extent, "Shattered" by Trading Yesterday. The inspiration just came as I was listening to the songs for the first time.

Took a little tightening up, but I'm happy with the result. I'm glad I could write something not quite as depressing as most of my poems. Writing it helped because I was feeling pretty down as I wrote it.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!
